MAHONING TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities have identified the woman killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred over the weekend in Carbon County. The Carbon County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim is 32-year-old Genevieve Snyder of Summit Hill.
The fatal crash took place on Saturday afternoon along East Blakeslee Boulevard (Route 443), in the vicinity of the Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital. According to investigators, Snyder was operating her vehicle when it collided with another car.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the collision, but Snyder was tragically pronounced dead. The status of the occupants in the second vehicle has not been detailed, though officials noted the investigation into the specific cause of the crash remains ongoing.
Local law enforcement closed a portion of Route 443 for several hours on Saturday to process the scene and reconstruction the accident. No charges have been filed at this time.
