Woman Identified in Fatal Monroe County Shooting; Suspect Charged with Homicide
COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, PA — The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a woman killed in a shooting Friday night in the "A Pocono Country Place" community. The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Jennifer Miller, of Carbondale.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police responded to a residence on Venice Terrace at approximately 9:30 p.m. on February 27, 2026, following reports of gunfire.
The Investigation and Arrest Upon arrival, officers discovered Miller suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted on Saturday morning confirmed the cause of death was a single gunshot wound, and the manner of death has been officially ruled a homicide.
Following an immediate investigation at the scene, police arrested 45-year-old Michael J. Rodriguez, who resided at the same address.
The Charges: Rodriguez has been charged with one count of Criminal Homicide.
Domestic Dispute: Investigators have characterized the incident as a domestic dispute that escalated into violence.
Legal Status: Rodriguez was arraigned on Saturday and is currently being held at the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail.
