Former Calabasas Private School Teacher Arrested; LASD Seeking Additional Victims
CALABASAS, CA — Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Special Victims Bureau have announced the arrest of 39-year-old Travis Shojinaga following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving minors. Shojinaga was arrested on February 25, 2026, in Calabasas.
On Friday, February 27, the case was presented to the District Attorney’s Office. Shojinaga has been formally charged with one felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material and four misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18. He is currently being held on $1,000,000 bail.
Details of the Investigation The investigation centers on allegations that Shojinaga took inappropriate photographs of underage children without their knowledge.
Employment History: Shojinaga was a teacher at Viewpoint School in Calabasas. Due to his role, he had regular contact with numerous juveniles.
School Cooperation: Viewpoint School has been fully cooperative with law enforcement and confirmed that Shojinaga is no longer employed at the institution.
